Conveyancing by a solicitor.
Buying or selling in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria or Western Australia. Your matter is run by a solicitor from contract to settlement.

A property is the largest purchase most people will make.
The contract decides what you are bound to do, by when, and what happens if something goes wrong.
We read it, explain it, and act for you until the keys are handed over.

How a NSW purchase runs
- Contract review
Before you sign, we read the contract and tell you what it says.
- Exchange
Signed contracts are swapped. A deposit is paid. From this point both sides are bound.
- Cooling-off period
For most residential purchases, the buyer has 5 business days to withdraw, ending at 5pm on the fifth business day. A buyer who withdraws pays the seller 0.25% of the price. There is no cooling-off period at auction.
- Searches and finance
We order searches, check the title, and keep your finance dates in view.
- Transfer duty
Duty must be paid by settlement or within 3 months of the contract, whichever comes first.
- Settlement
Settlement in NSW is done electronically. It is usually about 6 weeks after exchange, unless another date is agreed.
- After settlement
The title is registered in your name and you collect the keys.
Why use a solicitor for conveyancing
A solicitor can advise you on the law, not only the paperwork.
If a problem arises in the contract, the title or the settlement, your solicitor can advise you on your rights and act on them.
